The best places in Melbourne's eastern suburbs to grab a coffee after 3pm
We all know the feeling of needing a little pick-me-up to get you to the end of the day. But finding a place to grab a late afternoon cuppa is often a little harder than it needs to be.
Sometimes the morning is too busy to fit in a coffee hit. A number of cafes are skewed more towards the morning crowd. But what about the night-owls?

Annie’s Cafe House
Specialising in Vietnamese food and drink options from bahn mi to Vietnamese iced coffee, Annie’s Cafe House is a perfect place to stop after hopping off the train at Bayswater station. At Annie’s, you can also grab a $3.50 rice paper roll or a tea too.
Serving coffee most days 6am to 7pm.
Billy’s Kitchen
Situated in Westfield Knox Ozone, Billy’s Kitchen is a perfect stop to satisfy your PM caffeine cravings, paired with a piping hot pizza or a burger. Or maybe treat yourself to one of their dessert options.
Serving coffee from 8am to 9.30pm most days.
Vanilla Lounge
Located in Eaton Mall, Vanilla Lounge is a Greek patisserie and Mediterranean restaurant spanning two levels. Grab a filo-wrapped custard treat called a Galaktoboureko and sit down with a cuppa for a nice way to wrap up the weekend.
Serving coffee from 7am to 11pm.
Piatella Cafe Bar
Piatella prides itself on its indulgent Nutella waffles, as well as its specialist coffee options including the golden latte with turmeric and the beetroot latte.
Serving coffee from 7am to 10.30pm most days and until 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Larder and Thyme
Specialising in take-away homemade meals, Larder and Thyme also offers homemade sweets to pair with your early evening coffee hit. If you don’t have any dinner plans yet, feel free to grab a easy meal to heat up on the way out the door.
